Chocolaty, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth cocoa truffles for all life’s celebrations! These super creamy, rich Brazilian sweets are cooked in 10 minutes on your stovetop. All you need are four ingredients, fun sprinkles, and paper muffin cups. So fun for birthday parties and small gatherings!
Traditional Brigadeiros {Brazilian Fudge Balls}
Last week, I took some time to refresh, relax and enjoy my 36th birthday. 🎉 And, you know what? I absolutely love my thirties! I’ve never felt more confident, happy and just so freaking comfortable in my own skin – another year of charging ahead and chasing my dreams, here we go! Life is good. And a little bit of butter and chocolate is about to make it even better.
So, I want to celebrate by bringing you a recipe that embodies my three favorite things – rich chocolate, rainbow sprinkles and QUICKNESS. Anyone who knows me will tell you, I have zero issue with over-indulging the whole month of October. It’s a bit of a problem, ha!
These little truffles – a traditional Brazilian fudge ball – are melt-in-your-mouth delicious, rich and creamy. They are made very quickly on your stovetop with butter, sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Roll them in your favorite sprinkles and refrigerate ’til ready to serve. Or, just pop them obsessively like I did. These fudge truffles are perfect for elegant celebrations and cozy movie nights on the couch.
Let me show you the super simple steps to these 4-ingredient treats. Come celebrate with me and let’s cook a special treat!
Ready to make your own Traditional Brigadeiros?
• In a small sauce pan set to medium-low heat, mix condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter and salt.
• Cook mixture, stirring constantly (this is important, otherwise it will burn!) until it thickens, about 7 to 9 minutes. Run your spoon in the middle of the mixture. If it moves slowly, then it has thickened enough.
• Pour mixture into a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
• Pour sprinkles into a bowl or plate.
• Once the mixture is cool, remove from the refrigerator and prepare your mini paper cups. Grease your hands with butter. Roll the mixture into little balls. (about half a tablespoon – or, as big or small as you’d like!)
• Roll the brigadeiro balls into the sprinkles. Place each in a mini paper muffin cup.
• Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Is it my birthday again yet?
Maybe not, but I already can’t wait to make these for kid’s parties and all the little celebrations in between. I confess to not being a fan of traditionally dense fudge truffles. But these are anything but chalky and chewy! Brigadeiros are irresistibly creamy, poppable and delicious! The buttery rich, chocolaty flavor absolutely melts on your tongue.
I wasn’t the only one obsessed. My picky daughter absolutely devoured these tiny treats. Who can blame her, when they’re covered in cute rainbow sprinkles and chocolate sprinkles?
I hope you try these fun, festive and incredibly easy Brigadeiros for your next celebration – or, just a cozy night in! They are the most tasty, tempting bites and come together in only 10 minutes on your stovetop.
